Then, scroll down to the listing of countries below the map. * This is a great site! It’s my personal favorite because it is easy to read and still gives you lots of facts and information.
national geographic * Click on the tab of the type of map you’re interested in using (ROAD MAP, SATELLITE, BIRD’S EYE VIEW, ETC.). Then, type in a place (address if know) and explore! Transfer between types of maps. * This site can be frustrating to use because it may take a very long time to download. Be patient! It is worth the wait because it amazing to see the world from different perspectives.
time for kids * Click on “HOMEWORK HELPER” and then the subject title “SOCIAL STUDIES.” * A listing of sites is provided. Explore them!!

Information for each country is listed alphabetically. * This is an amazing site!! Extremely detailed and filled with lots of places!! Another one of my favorite sites!!
government library publications: The World Factbook * Locate and click on the tab labeled “References.” Allow the menu to drop down and select from the available headings “Regional Maps, Flags of the World, etc.” Click on the area of your interest. * You can also place the curser over a continent on the world map and click on it. * Scroll through the headings available and click on your area(s) of interest. * A great site with lots of detailed information, but might be a bit overwhelming for beginners.
